  Frank was born in St Paul's Crewe, Cheshire in 1888. He lived with his father Richard, a stationary engine driver, and his mother Charlotte at 295 Alton Street, Coppenhall Monks, Cheshire. He had 5 brothers, Harry, Frederick, Thomas, Jack & Arthur and a sister Maggie.

  Frank married Mary Jane Brooks at St Peter's, Congleton on the 18th April 1908. They set up home at 12 Spring Street, Congleton. They had 2 children Doris & Lillian. Frank worked for the London & North Western Railway.
  He enlisted in Crewe on the 27th April 1912, originally into the reserve battalion of the Cheshire Regiment. He was later transferred to the 1st Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers. He entered Belgium on the 20th October 1914. He was killed in action on the 16th May 1915 during the Battle of Festubert. He has no known grave and is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial, Richebourg-L'Avoue, Pas DE Calais, France.  Panels 13 & 14.
