Jonathan's Story.

Jonathon (known as Jack) was born in 1891 and was the only son of Jonathon and Sarah Jane Gresty of Orchard Lane, Heatley, Lymm.  In civilian life he was employed in the rubber business in Manchester. 

He was a well known sportsman and was a prominent member of the Oughtrington Cricket and Football Club.  He was also a member of Oughtrington Church and took a great interest in the services.

He was engaged to me be married to Miss Bertha Webb of Rushgreen, Lymm.

He enlisted in early 1915 and had seen active service on the front line 3 times.

He was killed in action on 23rd March 1918 aged 27.
