John's Story.
Born and enlisted Nantwich. Son of John and Annie Evans of 16,
Second Wood Street, Nantwich. Enlisted on February 6, 1913 and
went to France (Le Havre) on August 16. Died in the 15th
Field Ambulance (near Violaines) of a gun shot wound to
the head. His cousin, Corporal Jeremiah Schofield, was killed
in action in December 1914.
