“FELL IN THE ENEMY’S PARAPET”

Mrs. Kent, of Rake Lane, Eastham, has received official intimation that her son Corporal Alfred Kent, has been killed in action. He joined the Cheshire Regiment about 12 months ago, and had been out in France about four months. His officer, writing to his mother, states that “Corporal Kent took part in a successful raid carried out by his company, and he fell in the enemy’s parapet gallantly leading his men. His was hit in the head, causing instant death.” Prior joining the Army, he resided at Rake Lane with his parents.
