Sergt. John H. McKeone, of the 16th Cheshires, aged 34 years, was killed in action on April 22nd. He was a married man, and resided at 31, Brunswick Street, Rock Ferry. A native of Waterford, Ireland, the late sergeant joined the 13th Cheshires on their mobilisation in September, 1914, was soon out at the front, was wounded last April, and returned to “somewhere in France” only some six weeks ago. Mrs. McKeone lost her second son on April 28th last. Sergt. McKeone had been engaged in the building department at Messrs. Lever Bros. Ltd.
